J. Patrick Bowman, DMD is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and has been practicing dentistry since 2010. However, he wasn’t always in the smile field. He actually decided to follow his heart and left a successful career in product development and medical device marketing behind to go to dental school.
Dr. Patrick, as his patients call him, received his DMD degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He started off by practicing public health dentistry where he had the opportunity to treat underserved children in sunny Tampa, Florida. He found he loved working with the kiddos so much, he pursued pediatric dental specialty training at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. While there, he underwent advanced training in childhood growth and development, behavior guidance, oral conscience sedation, general anesthesia and the treatment of children with medically-complex diagnoses and developmental disabilities. In 2016, he obtained his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences.
These days, he’s a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the Colorado Dental Association. Being the go-getter he is, he also has two patents, has been published multiple times and has served on several non-profit community boards.
In his previous life before dentistry, Dr. Patrick worked for Proctor and Gamble (if you ever need to find out how to get that tough, baked-on lasagna off your pan or those pesky stains out of little league uniforms, Dr. Patrick knows his bubbles). He also worked as a volunteer firefighter when he was in his 20s and still jumps at the chance to take a ride on a fire truck.
Dr. Patrick is married to his wonderful wife, Heidi, and loves being a new father to his little girl, Avery. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing and road cycling. He’s a big fan of the opportunities Colorado offers to be active and outdoors with family and friends. Dr. Patrick is excited to be serving the families of the Stapleton area and is dedicated to educating parents and kids while making every child’s dental visit a fun, positive and enjoyable experience.
